Pit Angelus
Sovereign Deity of Light
Pillar of Balance
Once an angel serving the Goddess of Light, Pit has come a long way since his humble beginnings. From an angelic once scorched by the sun like Icarus, to an army captain bearing victories of countless fights, and now a sovereign deity arisen from the ashes of betrayal to defend the living.
Introduction
Hello and welcome to this site!
This is a fully grown-up portrayal of Pit from Kid Icarus. Even more specifically, mostly from Uprising, but with the original in mind as well. Personality wise, he's actually become an entire mom friend, with many caring motherly characteristics, and I regret nothing about that despite the deviation from canon.
I've had this muse since 2019 on Twitter, and sooner than that on other platforms. He's gone through significant character development as a result, hence several aspects of him that would be considered out of character in comparison to existing works in the franchise.
In addition to his portrayal as a Kid Icarus muse, he is also multiverse friendly and can interact with characters from other verses; especially but not solely the Smash Brothers verse. Please also note that this character portrayal is a crossover portrayal with Final Fantasy 14. Different aspects apply to both sides of his portrayal, so there is a separate content section for each.
Furthermore, even though I've personally never bought into Pit being considered a child, I know many do. It is extremely important to note that my portrayal is not a child and takes offense into being called one. Do not under any circumstances consider this portrayal as anything less than 21+ years old. We will not agree with each other.
Despite his differences from more canon Pit portrayals, I hope you'll give him a chance! This Pit is portrayed heavily on being more grown up and independent, including a complete separation from Palutena caused by roleplayed storyline events.
Please read on and enjoy! Thank you!
Biographical Information
Name: Pit Angelus
Nicknames: Pittles, Pitty, Pitty Pat, Mom Friend, Ai
Title: The God of Light
Age: Due to his angel-turned-deity physiology, he looks a lot younger than he is. Though well over 30+ years old, he only appears to be around 18 years old. However, his mental age and maturity are well over 20 years old. This Pit is portrayed as a mature adult, despite not appearing as such.
Appearance: Despite having wised up and matured over the years, Pit's height is still 5 feet, 3 inches; 160 centimeters. He weighs about 130lbs. Short, messy chocolate brown hair and ocean blue eyes. Slender body frame, fit and muscular.
Occupation: God of Light, Homemaker, loving motherly parent. Lead dealer and co-owner of Eternal Euphoria Nightclub.
Family:
Pitra (Sister) -- She was raised by Medusa, leading even further into Pit learning to embrace those he once thought of as enemies. The two have a tremendous bond now, and have ever since they met. Even though she is more than capable of fending for herself, he is very protective of her. Even though she's quite a gremlin, Pit would have her no other way. Her swearing may often make her sound like a sailor, but her strong wings being able to truly take flight means she loves the sky more than the sea.
Cayden Bonney (Adopted Son) -- A teenager that was witnessed getting disowned from a transphobic and homophobic home with nowhere to go from there. They gladly took him in. Pit loves this boy with his life and would flat out defend him to the death if necessary. So much so that he even took him to get immortality at the River Styx. He'd go to the end of the universe and back for Cayden's sake, they have an extraordinary familial bond.
Special image credit to @victorrinne, I commissioned this picture from them and they're always so wonderful to me.
Significant Other(s): Pit is multiship, and all of his ships are treated as different timelines. His ships are: Daku/Dark Pit (Kid Icarus), Ice Pit (a good friend's Kid Icarus OC), and Marth (Fire Emblem). He also has multiple OT3 and other polyship variations with these characters (all with mun permissions of course) and he loves all of them dearly. For Final Fantasy 14 specifically, his only husband is Marth, played by my IRL fiancee.
Pets: No matter what verse, Pit owns a white Scottish Fold cat named Luce, whom literally walked into his house and never left. Several other pets vary on his relationships and verse being portrayed. He also owns four chocobos due to his affiliation with Eorzea from Final Fantasy 14. These chocobos are Dawn (his white companion chocobo), Dusk (a black chocobo from Ishgard), and Pearl (a special white chocobo given to him and Marth for their Ceremony of Eternal Bonding), and Eloise (an overweight yellow chocobo.)
Likes: Cooking, baking, birds, his independence, being with the people he loves, learning new things, reading, family, cats, penguins, sentimental trinkets, archery, ice cream, hot springs, chess, music, art, singing, flying, Skyworld, taking care of others, and playing violin.
Dislikes: Wasted food, loud noises, the mere concept of living vegetables, being ignored, being lonesome, rudeness, being useless, people meddling with his business, know it alls, betrayal, and liars.
Biggest Fears: Losing control of himself to the point of hurting people he cares about.
Languages: Pit is fluent in Japanese and English; he can speak, read, and write both. I, the admin, however am not fluent in Japanese and therefore have to rely on outside sources or just be like “and Pit responded in Japanese” or so forth.
History & Story
Pit went through much to protect the world over the years, with no shortage of insane events surrounding his life. Countless monsters had blocked his path, several calamities, even his darker half at one point. Skyworld had seen no shortage of danger, but Pit had guided them to victory every single time...with or without Palutena, depending on the situation. However, just after the events of Kid Icarus: Uprising in 2015, Pit had an argument with Palutena. He felt underappreciated, overworked, stressed without proper aide, and stuck in place, with no room to grow no matter how strong he became. After a lengthy conversation, he decided he wanted to gain some independence while being her underling.
She accepted this at first, and Pit made a living down on the Overworld. He obtained his own home and plot, taking up a range of skills that were assisted by his time in the Smash Manor. He learned how to read from Marth, and then used this skill to teach himself several more. Working hard over the years since Uprising, he’s learned how to cook, bake, garden, perform various home repairs, and has even still managed to keep his combat skills sharp.
Pit’s journey of independence involved him becoming more accepting of various figures that Palutena considered enemies, such as Medusa, Vivian, Thanatos, and even his own long lost sister, Pitra. He's grown closer to countless Greek deities, even looking up to some of them, and drawing significant inspiration from mythological accounts of Theia, the Goddess of Light and Sight. Through countless bonds forged, he came to value the importance of the balance between light and darkness, especially as he watched Hades work through a redemption arc...and came to learn how the Uprising affected Persephone and Pitra. He's since vowed never to let that balance be disturbed again.
However, during a situation prior to that redemption, Palutena and Viridi’s souls were body swapped by Hades. Almost rapidly, the sanity of the Goddess of Light began to fray. She soon snapped after Pit rejected her request for him to move back to Skyworld and abandon his independence. Slapping him and deeming him a traitor, she lost her mind entirely, and lashed out at anyone that she once cared about. Pit was even given an apology by her, only for her to stab him in the back --literally.
It was at that stage that he knew she couldn’t be saved, and the scar in his back haunts him to this day. When she finally attacked another angel that was working for the Deity of Dimensions, Govion, her powers were taken away by the dimensional deity and bestowed unto Pit.
Although he is now the God of Light, atop of his work in Eorzea, he’s wary of being called the title since he fears not being able to rise to the occasion, as well as accidentally making the mistakes of his former goddess. That said, he’s still fighting to do his best with what he’s been presented. This hasn't been an easy pair of shoes for him to fill by any means, but he's taking it in stride.
Character Notes: The Marth that goes with my Pit is ran by #Yukimun. Meanwhile the characters Daku, Nyx, and Spencer are brought to you by #FatefulFeathers. Govion, Pitra, and Cayden are my OCs and I also portray the Medusa, Thanatos, and Amnesiac AU Pit mentioned in this story. Vivian, Persephone, and Ice Pit are all OCs brought to you by #MunKitsune. This Pit portrayal is MVRP compatible, along with Final Fantasy 14 and Smash Brothers.
Information (Final Fantasy 14)
Warning, the following may contain spoilers for Final Fantasy 14 and it's expansions.
Pit's FF14 lore picks up at his fight and separation from Palutena, with the exception that she responded by forcing him to go work for another deity in another world. That is, despite gaining his independence after Uprising, he did accept one more task from Palutena.
He accepted the call of Hydaelyn, to aid Eorzea. Pit alighted to Eorzea in the year of 2021, accepting the call to become the Warrior of Light and gaining the power of the Echo. Battling alongside the Scions on their phantasmal adventures to defend Eorzea, defeat the Primals, liberate Ala Mhigo and Doma...among many other adventures. Through trials, tribulations, heartbreaks, losses, and victories…he has stayed strong. Carrying the world’s hopes and dreams on his shoulders, he mourns for those he has lost, and protects the friends that remain.
Being an angel (and god) of light in his homeworld, events in Novrandt and The First shook Pit to his very foundation. Siding fully with the darkness to the apocalypse that threatened grave danger upon The Source and The First. His battles as the Warrior of Darkness against the Sin Eaters reinforced his beliefs in the balance of light and darkness being necessary in the world. Having been traumatized by nearly becoming the very corrupted light that he was seeking to destroy, Pit is extraordinarily thankful to have survived recent ordeals. Nearly becoming a sin eater is a trauma that will inevitably gnaw at his heart for more than a while. Nonetheless, he proudly carries on, for those he can yet save. He bears these experiences with him during his work as God of Light on Skyworld as well, using this to maintain his newfound balance with the Underworld.
More recent events have seen him to The Northern Empty, seeking to destroy the Telophoroi towers and cease the tempering of Garlemald. Facing the grimness of the situation has strained him, but not broken him. Even though the scathing words of the Garleans sting, he understands the sentiment all too well. Having his body snatched by Zenos however, has torn open old wounds that he’ll be nursing for quite some time…even as he continues to stand for what is right. To bring peace to the lands he has fought to defend.
During these adventures, he has gained countless titles, and monumental battle experience. Despite the differentiation of Palutena being the one to force him to cooperate with Eorzean mythology, she did eventually still betray him in these timelines. This did still lead to him becoming the God of Light in his world, and thanks to cooperation of himself with other deities, Pit was given the ability to travel between Eorzea and the lands watched over by Skyworld. Pit settled easily into the multiverse traveling, used to doing so due to the Smash Manor. His duties in protecting Eorzea have not scuffed his ability to handle being the God of Light, and he would never allow it to be so. His dedication to protecting both worlds is matched only by his love for his partner, Marth.
His patron deity for Eorzea is Menphina, the Lover.
Notes & Additional Headcanons
This portrayal is SFW only unless discussed prior.
Pit does regularly refer to himself as a mother, but his pronouns are still very much he/him.
He does embrace a bit of a feminine side sometimes though.
Pit still is extremely frugal and adores hot springs. He can still sometimes be found habitually soaking in a hot spring in his toga, if he forgets that he doesn't have to be so uptight anymore.
Due to being a god now, Pit can fly unlimited under his own power. His wings are beautifully healthy now, and he's quite proud of them. The trauma of having them burned away though, still remains, and Pit does often still fear such a thing.
He's a fantastic cook, teacher, and parent. Definitely has grown into being an all rounder, in and out of combat.
Pit does keep a diary, though he's protective of it. If you're ever lucky enough to read it, it's an extreme sign of trust.
If you come to visit him in his home or Skyworld or...anywhere really, he will try to feed you or get you something to drink. It's his way of taking care of those close to him.
Don't ever mistake his kindness for weakness. His motherly attitude has developed a lot of protectiveness over the years. He is an extremely capable fighter and angering him will result in damages physical and mental.
